If you arrive to the Puerto Vallarta International Airport (Gustavo Diaz Ordaz), you have several options towards getting to the Hotel Rio.

There are two Taxi ticket booths on either side of the exit doors in the airport. The price ranges from $180 to $250 pesos to downtown.

If you prefer to take the city (yellow) taxi just cross the bridge that is located outside the airport as you get out of customs and it will take you to downtown for about $80 pesos and in just 15 minutes. Please make sure to tell him that Hotel Rio is near the Cuale River (Rio Cuale) in downtown or El Centro.

If you are traveling light, the bus stop at the airport is right outside the end exit, look for a blue sign with a bus. The busses run very frequently and the ticket cost $4.5 pesos. To get to town from the Hotel Strip take the bus that says “Centro” and does not also have “Tunel” on it, this one will take you through downtown and on to the south side teminal. When you reach the Main Plaza, Town Hall and Church or the Famous Arcos, then you can ask for the bus stop which leaves you a block away from the Hotel Rio.
